Wildlife Rescue Kits: A Community Initiative
We have developed comprehensive wildlife rescue kits that are now available for purchase, aimed specifically at empowering the community to assist in the rescue, rehabilitation, and transportation of injured and displaced wildlife. These kits are designed with the intention of providing essential tools and resources for individuals who may encounter wildlife in distress, ensuring that they are well-equipped to respond effectively and compassionately.

Cost-Effective and Eco-Friendly Solutions
One of the standout features of our wildlife rescue kits is their cost-effectiveness. We understand that community involvement is crucial for wildlife conservation efforts, and making these kits affordable allows more individuals to participate in rescue initiatives. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the materials used to create these kits. By utilizing recycled materials, we not only reduce waste but also promote an environmentally responsible approach to wildlife rescue. For example, medical scissors and gloves included in the kits have been generously donated by veterinary clinics throughout the picturesque Adelaide Hills. This collaboration not only helps to lower costs but also strengthens the bond between local businesses and community members, fostering a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility for wildlife welfare.

Please be careful around moving traffic - add a fluro vest to your kit to ensure cars can see you so that you can rescue the animal safely.
What to Do While Waiting
After contacting a wildlife rescue organization, you can:
1) Eliminate any danger to the animal.
This involves keeping people and pets away from the native animal to reduce stress for vet until a rescuer arrives.
2) If safe place the animal in a warm, dark, quiet location.
For instance, gently wrap the animal in a towel, place it in a ventilated box with a lid, cover the box with a towel and either transport it to the nearest vet or wait for the rescuer. *Handle the animal minimally to reduce stress and keep their eyes covered*
3) Do not provide food or water to the animal
4) If you are unable to contain the animal, stay nearby to make it easier for a carer to locate and rescuing them when they arrive.
