WHAT WE DO
Hills Wildlife Guardians is a wildlife rescue and nature education project located in Adelaide, Australia. With a focus on rehabilitating wildlife and raising community awareness about the environment, the project has been serving the area for the past 10 years. Hills Wildlife Guardians aims to cater to nature enthusiasts and offers additional goals of collecting donations and providing educational resources.
OUR PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
At Hills Wildlife Guardians, we are dedicated to various programs and projects aimed at preserving wildlife and the environment. Our initiatives include community education, supporting wildlife sanctuaries and advocating for environmental changes. These activities are crucial in our mission to protect and conserve the natural world for future generations.
Community Education
Educating the community on wildlife rehabilitation fosters a better relationship with nature. By understanding local wildlife, individuals can create habitats and provide food and water, aiding recovery efforts. Community involvement promotes awareness and appreciation for ecosystems, making a significant difference in wildlife health.
Supporting Sanctuaries
We are committed to providing essential food supplies to animals in need, effectively alleviating the stress of feeding them. Currently we are assisting a handful of kangaroo sanctuaries to make an impact and supporting our local wildlife community. Together, we will ensure that every animal receives the nourishment they deserve.
Donation of medical supplies
We collaborate with local vet clinics to collect expired medical supplies, such as syringes. These valuable resources are then donated to wildlife carers, aiding them in the essential task of feeding animals in rehabilitation
Rehabilitation of injured or displaced wildlife
We are a duo of licensed wildlife carers excited to be part of the remarkable journey of rehabilitating approximately 80 animals annually in the Adelaide Hills and Murray Lands! Our dedication to animal welfare drives us to provide these extraordinary creatures the care and support they truly deserve. We work with various species, including bats, possums, kangaroos, birds of prey, and reptiles.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Nature’s Pantry, a community project designed to assist wildlife carers with the essential supplies they need to help rehabilitate and care for injured, sick, and orphaned animals.
Wildlife carers do an incredible job in our communities, often working tirelessly to provide shelter, medical care, and nourishment to animals in need. But their work comes at a significant cost; with hay shortages and cost of living on the rise many are struggling and are reaching out for donations.
That’s where Nature’s Pantry comes in! Our mission is to collect food donations, medical supplies and a range of miscellaneous items that relieve some of the pressure on carers and help make a real difference in the lives of both carers and the wildlife they help.
What Can You Donate?
- Fresh fruit and vegetables such as carrots, apple, pears, cucumber, sweet potato, corn.
- Medical supplies - wound care, syringes, bandages
- towels, sheets and material for making pouches
By contributing to Nature’s Pantry, you're not just donating items; you're actively supporting the recovery of local wildlife and ensuring they have the best chance of returning to the wild where they belong. Every little bit helps!
Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of our precious wildlife.
